This weekend I finally got around to making some wall art. Here's the inspiration featured on Made By Girl.
Supplies:
-A frame - I spray painted my $5 Micheal's find a high gloss white
-Silver paper- these metal sheets work or you can use scrapbooking paper- (Silver looks better on our grey walls, but feel free to use whatever color you'd like)
-A glue gun
-Scissors or a circle punch
-Poster board
I decided to use my 2" circle punch to create the circles, you could cut out circles, but I was being lazy.Start layering the circles on top of each other on a piece of poster board, using the glue gun to secure each piece.
Poster board with all the circles attached. If you'd like to have a more dimensional look to the piece, you could bend the circles slightly at the point of attachment, so that they stand out slightly from the frame.
In the frame.
I enlisted the help of the mister to hang it on the wall...
Ta da! The finished product. I love how, depending on which angle your standing at, the circles all reflect light differently.
Very kewl! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery clever! I may just have to try this! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI quite like it. I may have to invest in a circle punch - that is what is holding me back. I can't bear the idea of cutting out all those darn circles!
ReplyDeletethe circle punch was a lifesaver! and made this super quick.

this is amazing! :o) What exactly are the 'metal sheets' that you referred to?
ReplyDeleteYou could use thicker card stock, but I found these soft metal sheets at Joann: http://www.joann.com/walnut-hallow-metal-squares-40-gauge-aluminum/zprd_11597093a/
