Fall Trend: Cropped Sweater & A Midi Skirt

I'm am so in love with Jessica Alba's NYFW outfit.  The navy cropped sweater with that flowy pink midi skirt is stunning.  With clean lines it's classic & feminine silhouette works perfectly for this fall trend.   I also love it with a pencil skirt (Diane Krueger) and a draped coat, or with a fuller midi skirt, or with a hint of neon.  It's the perfect way to transition into autumn.

Pink & Purple Wedding Inspiration

With the big wedding around the corner we're sharing the lovely couple's color palette for their big day.  It's a beautiful combination of blush, pink, & purple.  The ceremony will feature a bolder pink and purple combination, while the reception will play with softer hues like blush and feature plenty of romantic candle light.  Can't wait for the festive weekend ahead and to celebrate the beautiful couple.

Soiree :: Breakfast at Tiffany's Bridal Shower

This past weekend I was lucky enough to help throw a Breakfast at Tiffany's themed bridal shower for a friend.  We carried out the theme in the food, decor and with the little details which included: a Tiffany Box cake, lush florals, and Tiffany themed centerpieces: which included quotes from the movie and real Tiffany boxed with faux crystals.   The cake and cookies were ordered from a bakery in the suburbs, the flowers were ordered from Chicago Flower Company and designed by one of the co-hosts, we set up a Bellini bar, and catered most of the food from Birchwood Cafe.  We gifted the bride-to-be with a book of recipes, one from each guest, as she is a foodie.  For added ambiance we displayed a huge framed Breakfast at Tiffany's movie poster, had the movie silently playing in the background, and set up a Tiffany Box step-and-repeat complete with tiaras, pearls, and boas as props.  The favors were Frango mints in replica Tiffany Boxes, and displayed alongside the LOVE letters we featured here yesterday.

Jackie O Inspired Wedding

One of the great style icons of all time, her wedding has inspired brides for generations. Taking a cue from Jackie's lovely gown the inspired wedding would be the epitome of classic elegance, featuring a color palette of black and white with hints of champagne pink. The bride would wear a classic gown with crystal shoes or clutch and soft feminine gloves. The ceremony would be in an old barn or tent with suspended chandeliers and feminine chair covers. And the reception would feature long tables, that stretch forever, and guests would dine in the soft romantic glow of candlelight and billowing fabric. Imagine black bows on chair backs and grounding the soft ambiance of pale pinks with black charger plates. And of course the couple would make their getaway in a classic white car. Channeling some Jackie O inspiration for your soiree, enjoy!

Minneapolis Wedding

I actually found this stunning Minneaplis wedding via a Pinterest pin of their whimsical invite.  Perusing their wedding pictures, it's almost as though I've known the bride and groom forever, and I'm so in love with their style.  The classic color palette of white, grey, with hints of lemon, tie together this elegant and charming wedding.  The bride plans weddings for a bridal magazine, so it's no surprise her wedding day would be full of glamour and personal style.  Love the drama of her dress and that veil, oh my!  And the last picture of the groom, completely adorable!

Wedding Trends: Getaway Cars

Because making a big exit is just as important as a big enterance, on your wedding day.  It's the classic image of a wedding, the getaway vehicle with the words "Just Married" on the back.  A symbol of a wonderful night and the promise of a bright furntiure.  Some getaway options for your wedding day.

Stunning Mexican Affair

I'm obsessed with Spanish Veils, I think they are the most stunning thing you can put on your head for your wedding day.  This lovely destination wedding in Zucatecas, Mexico is a tribute to my love affair with Spanish Veils.  Of course the fact that the bride is gorgeous doesn't hurt either.  I'm in love the beautiful scenery, the lovely architecture- the ceremony took place in the remains of a 16th-century convent, and the subtle hints of pink.  Their wedding was simply beautiful and incredibly romantic, enjoy!
