Inspiration Board :: Beachy Coral & Poweder Blue Wedding Inspiration

There is something so dreamy and romantic about the combination of powder blue and coral.  Add the scenic backdrop of a calm ocean and tall grass and you have the makings of a stunning pretty coral and powder blue wedding.  Some visual inspiration for your summer wedding or soiree.

The Wise Baby :: Gender Reveal Party Ideas

We are over at The Wise Baby today with our favorite concepts & themes for a gender reveal.  I love the idea of having your loved ones surround you when you find out if you're expecting a little Man or a little Miss.  The Mister and I both agreed that we wanted to know if we were having a boy or a girl so we threw a gender reveal party.  It was a March Madness theme, complete with a baby due date bracket and a basketball banner and onesie for the reveal.  You can check out our gender reveal here.

Soiree :: Travel Themed Bridal Shower

Today I am sharing my cousin's "Love is a Journey" travel themed bridal shower.  You can catch her beautiful wedding featured on Style Me Pretty's Little Black Book.  Since her fiancee is from London, and they met in Barcelona, and they've since traveled all over Europe, it made perfect sense to throw them a travel themed shower.  The shower featured vintage elements such as the par avion envelope boarders, vintage suitcases, crates, and  a boarding pass invitation.  Guests 'checked in' at the guest book table, where they took Polaroids with the bride-to-be, and as they left they stopped by the 'baggage claim' where individual wine bottle favors with luggage tags awaited them.  The cuisine was an international spread with wine parings, as indicated by arrows on a chalkboard runner, and beverages were served at the 'in flight beverage service station'.  And for dessert, her sister who is a phenomenal baker made international cupcakes, featuring the flags of the different countries that represented something special in their relationship.  It was such a fun and festive shower for such a wonderful couple.

Baby Week :: Nursery Reveal

Here it is, our little man's very own little space.  This room, once an office/storage space, needed to function as a nursery and a guestroom.  We started with this inspiration board.  Keeping with the grey/blue and yellow color scheme, we added giraffe accents, all white furniture, and several DIY projects to bring the room together.

Baby Week: Nursery Inspiration

It's Wednesday of Baby Week, which means we are sharing our nursery inspiration board!  When it came time to design our nursery/guestroom we knew we wanted a modern feel and that we liked a color palette of yellow & grey.  Working with just that, and after finding out we were expecting a lil' sir this March, we came up with this inspiration board to serve as a jumping off point for the room.  I love that this nursery inspiration board is both a lil' modern & a lil' retro, and has a variety of patterns & textures.  It's not too babyish, and perfect for him to grow into over the years.

Moustach Bash 1st Birthday

Love this moustache bash first birthday party.  From the chevron to the blue & green color palette, to the fabulous cake,  to the wet your whiskers beverage station, and to the little bow ties and moustaches adorning everything, I'm loving all the great details.  The chalkboard sign is fabulous, love how it displays all his favorites, and is so trendy.  And how dapper and adorable is the birthday boy!

Soiree :: Nautical Navy & Yellow Baby Shower

Today I'm sharing the insanely gorgeous nautical themed shower that our friends and family threw us.  From the lovely party decor to the delicious dessert table, there were so many beautiful details.  I adored all the rustic nautical elements, with touches of blue glass, and  sea-worthy phrases.  Guests were encouraged to leave little notes to B (aka baby) on sand dollar shells, which I can't wait to frame in a shadow box for the nursery.

The stunning cake was a combination of strawberry shortcake and red velvet, which happens to be mine and the Mister's favorites.

The desert table was completed with delicious cake pops, amazing shortbread anchor cookies, brownies, and lollipops.  The girls even put together a "cravings station" with all my favorites: SourPatch Kids, Jolly Ranchers, Twizzlers & Yan Yans!
The favors were Nutella stuffed, sea-salt, and brown butter chocolate chip cookies that I baked the night before.  We found those gorgeous navy stripped paper bags on Etsy, and tied everything together with red and white bakers twine and added a thank you label.
The signature drink featured cotton candy and champagne or sprite, with an added Swedish Fish for fun.
{with our lovely shower hostess!}

Games: They went around with a ball of yarn, that guests could guesstimate the size of my belly by cutting the yarn at their desired length.  We also played the "my water broke" game, that had mini babies frozen in ice cubes, whose ever baby floated up to the top first won.  And the last game guest played, involved guessing which baby (myself or the Mister) was responsible for various behaviors/mannerisms.

Winter Wonderland Dessert Table

This is one serious holiday dessert table.  I love the blues of this Winter Wonderland dessert table with pops of bright red and green, and plenty of vintage charm.   The desserts are almost to beautiful to eat, and those eye catching drinks are calling my name.  The antique window background and snow branches that featured birds and cookie ornaments, brings the outdoors in.  This dessert table would make a lovely addition to any holiday party.

Baby, It's Cold Outside Baby Shower

I love this bundle up baby, it's cold outside baby shower theme.  The cozy color pallet of blue, yellow, and green are great for a gender neutral shower.  And all the textures from the yarn balls, to the wood pieces, to the fuzzy cotton robe and onesies, really bring together the winter woodland theme. Playing off the bundled up baby, the shower featured woodland creatures in cute sweaters, stork bundled boxed lunches, and the party favors which were bundled socks.  Instead of a dessert bar, this shower featured a hot cocoa bar, perfect for the season, with all the fixings you'd need.  You can download all the printables free till the end of the month from Huggies & Hostess with the Mostess, here.
